Humanity, my friends, is the only thing that may give us a competitive edge in all the areas of our complex, mixed up lives.

Humanity and morality will no longer simply be principles to be inspired by (or more often dropped like an unanswered letter! ) but rather the most rigorous criterion to assess and measure our progress, in its broadest sense.

We firmly believe this, and we also firmly believe that this phenomenon will actually be an opportunity for us all to evolve and to give back a greater degree of depth to our social relationships, to our ways of working together and to our inner lives, which have often been mistreated by fast-paced rhythms, increasing pressures and an overturning of values.

And this model, inspired by a respect for our individuality and others’, discipline and solidarity – concepts that have been liberated from the ‘political correctness’ to which we have become accustomed in recent times, almost with no understanding, and restored to their deepest and truest meaning – may, in our opinion, even be the keystone in the development that is to come in the world of work and business.

This is why, in the 2021 that has just begun, we believe that, alongside the quality and safety of our products and our plans to develop our business and new services, there must be a brilliant humanity that will emerge and rise up.

At first glance, it would almost seem to be a step backwards, a return to our origins, to the time when man and man alone was at the centre of it all.

However, this new aspect has all the features of being a superpower we can use to forge ever onwards and get across these rough seas, which are mired in darkness as far as the horizon.

Thus, with our sleeves rolled up and our hands roughened, all that is left to do is wish each of ourselves, and each of you, a strong wind in your sails!

Let’s begin with a large dose of reality because what we have heard so far and what we will hear a lot more of is rhetoric!

It is not easy to find measured words that sound sincere, that instil positive feelings, because hearing the news this autumn, which promises to be thick and hard, what stands out is that the game - the real game - is about to be played now! And it’s not fucking funny!

We have nothing to hide – we, too, are scared. For what we have painstakingly built over the years, for ourselves and our families, and also for the future we have always imagined to be rich and in Technicolor.

All that is happening to us is so out of the ordinary that it cannot be traced back to the patterns or the models of the past. We have got to change. So much so that our old reading of the world and what is normal is now distant and faded.

We told ourselves, didn’t we, right from the instant of lockdown, on Facebook live, that we would all have to – with no exceptions! – roll up our sleeves, now it’s time to give form to this awareness, stimulate the imagination and look for new solutions.

We don’t know if the new behaviours and ideas (which we consider to be innovative) that we have been working on since May will take off, but we do know that the way we have chosen to interpret the world and the market that surrounds us is based on connections and interconnections, first and foremost between us and you, to cultivate an overall vision that involves empathy and does not disregard morality or the ability to listen.

As the old folks used to say – he was a man with ‘chutzpah’ – we fight to the bitter end!

Let’s do this together. Now’s the time.

Don’t be afraid

 It is not easy to write anything at this particular moment in time that doesn’t come across as being pure rhetoric or badly worded, but it’s also true that it’s just in situations like these that your voice has to be heard, to send a message, a plea, or express a point of view.

New Ancorvis’ point of view, understood as coming from a group of individuals, is one of analysis and realisation, with a vision – out of need – that jettisons beyond the boundaries of business and into the social and civil sphere.

Don't be afraid. The events we are experiencing flip the belief that we can determine and control the future with the actions we take in the present, and force us to face up to the inescapable limits that characterise our lives: birth and death. So much for the feeling of immortality that we nurture with a certain theatrical flair.
The isolation imposed on us by the measures to contain the epidemic has led us to rediscover - in a kind of paradox - that the forced separation from others (a potential danger to us, just as we are to them! ) makes them less nebulous, forcing us to think not only of our own well-being but even that of others.
And yet, if on the one hand the invaluable rediscovery of the value of others, the importance of the home and a certain basic, fundamental aspect underscore what is really important, on the other hand we have the virus – an invisible, unpredictable enemy. Evidently treacherous, as we all know by now!

Covid-19 came into our lives and forced us to stop, changed the way we do things and shattered many of our certainties. We are learning to live day to day, watching the progress of the number of cases, in a Twilight Zone dimension that seems almost surreal and marked by ever-present news headlines.
And yes, it is scary!

But we think that fear is the greatest defensive weapon we have in our arsenal because it leads us to be conscientious, clear-headed and far-sighted to drive and arm ourselves with each possible precautionary measure and a strength to face up to the enemy and then – eventually! – breathe in the air of a new future.
Our companies and their managers are fighters, too, just as we at New Ancorvis are, with a desire, now more than ever, to forge ahead, without being disheartened, and we are already conceiving new business models.
It will not be the same as before, that’s quite clear. We really believe that we will all be better!
Firstly, because awareness leads to new goals and great results. Secondly, because determination fuels the desire to achieve them and, finally, because being ‘pizza lovers’ - pardon my French - triggers just the right feeling to put our hearts and souls into it, as only we Italians know how!
So come on, let’s get on with it! Proud, with our heads hung low and our noses to the grindstone.

 

 

 

Keep Calm and Love Chameleon

Imagine if the digital revolution of our daily lives suddenly went up in smoke, as if by magic.

If, for the sake of argument, there was a back-to-basics situation of monumental proportions that forced us, from our sphere of work to free time, to stop simplifying what we do and how we interconnect that is currently made possible by technological and digital progress.

Well, that would be a nightmare! A sort of vital organs shut-down, even if it allowed us to stay safe and sound in our comfort zone, far from the upheaval of daily routine, which in fact - let's face it! - is by far the most annoying and unnerving thing we have to deal with every day.

So, since we would be far from happy about going back to basics and given that complaining is not a strategy (indeed, it seems to make us even less attractive!), we have no choice but to keep up with the times and shake off our customary way of doing things every so often, so we don’t miss out on even the tiniest part of this transformation...

Because - by refocusing on business and our current production procedures –  digital innovation and technology in general lead to a whole lot of positive results!

And since these tools have become part and parcel of our work, we have realised that to make them work at their best, i.e. seamlessly and efficiently, we need to create a culture of awareness and independence!

So, what this means is that New Ancorvis, at a quick calculation, has been holding training courses for twenty years! – Cantoni (The Boss, editor’s note) has nurtured a strong desire… to grow the digital skills of all the players in our supply chain, i.e. medicaltechnical – and the industry itself, creating a working environment in which each one can express, in their own field of specialisation, the relevant skills, whilst relying on tools that simplify and optimise time and results.

In short, to drive the point home: industry can really be amazingly beneficial for clinical and technical teams, but only if all three of these players are united by expertise in the digital content applied to our sector.

Grow Up is a training scheme, focused on digital themes, that injects New Ancorvis’ twenty years of experience into its educational content, derived from the company’s in-depth knowledge of the symbiotic work of the two R&D teams. The teams collaborate and validate solutions and ideas in the lab and in the field which they offer in their courses and to the market as well.

As pragmatic as ever, the Grow Up Team IN (consisting of specialised staff within the Grow Up team) and the Grow Up Team OUT (represented by external clinics and dental technicians) aim to offer simple and practical formulas to solve even the most difficult equations.

So, a whole lot of practical work, a tips-and-tricks approach plus tailor-made training in a kick-a.. location (oops, are we allowed to say that?) where clinics and technicians, together with their staff, can learn, test first-hand and experiment GrowUp-style solutions in the field.

This means that you will be able to get all the answers to your questions, plus improve and develop your work protocol!

I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it

We’ve always had a mania for training, especially when it comes to the digital world ...
Because as a genius painter once said “I am always doing what I cannot do yet, in order to learn how to do it ” , which in reality is an exhortation to get out of one’s comfort zone and refine the tricks of the trade... to push ourselves further.

This is the spirit of Sinergia, a beautiful project pursued by Nobil Metal and New Ancorvis, with whom we first started to collaborate a good 10 years ago, based on which we initially began our own learning process, specialising in Cad Exocad modelling software - churning out 9 certified Trainers to date - before extending this approach to all interested parties in our sector of reference.


We spent time and energy, studying like crazy between 2009 and 2014 and structuring our academy, which is naturally called Sinergia Training Academy - in such a way as to guarantee widespread coverage throughout the entire national territory. We are incredibly proud to declare that from 2017 until today, we have progressively recorded an attendance rate of no less than 600 dental technicians, who, cum laude (we love saying it!), now handle the software with ease, having been supported along their journey from the basics through to the acquisition of advanced skills.
And that’s not all!


In this journey paved with hard work and great satisfactions, there had to be an event dedicated to celebrating the importance of professional skills and continuous training! Hence Sinergia Day was born…
The first will be held in Milan... the second in Bologna, the third, with an entirely new connotation and committed to generating a culture of digital flows applied to the dental sector, will take place on 13th September also in Bologna, in a truly captivating location: Fico Eataly World.

Since production and technology here at New Ancorvis are part of a much larger whole that is spirit of belonging, determination, enthusiasm, hard work, faces...

This fragrance - which we proudly called “New Ancorvis The Perfume” - serves precisely to make sure that our mood and essence are imprinted in your memory, so that when you smell it in the air you think of us with a smile.

Yes, it’s a delicate idea... but it is as strong as titanium and it tells you about a concentrated and well-defined identity by stimulating the oldest and most powerful of our senses - the sense of smell.

And so just like with any respectable eau de parfum, the construction is complex and ambroxan, Iso and Super, woods and flowers, pink pepper and citrus fruit combine to make our perfume a creation that talks about us and that is, of course, completely customised!

It's fantastic... we know! Actually... we are certain of this... Because of the 4 Limited Edition bottles that we produced... two were stolen from us as soon as they were launched!

This is another reason that convinces us we have the X Factor:  Our self-esteem is growing... And with it the desire to flood you with our essence!

Boom!!!!

Cantoni (yes, him, the CEO of New Ancorvis) turned thinking and rethinking into a passion or, better, into a way to realise design innovation actions in his products.

It's the beginning of the year, a period in which the direction of the company's sales and R&D policy is established, determining its mood...

What is missing in the range? – we ask ourselves.

Well, various components are missing: from impression transfers to cylinders for temporary restorations, from bonding for computer-guided surgery to healing screws.

Damnit! – a whole universe of products and applications to be considered.

And so, trying to stand by New Ancorvis’ problem-solving vocation, first of all we focused on solving a matter linked to the management of temporary elements.

All eyes on bonding connectors!

"Could the cylindrical body be longer?" - one of the members of the R&D staff asks…

"Certainly! But what kind of innovation would that be? "- asks another.

Concentration! : what could our customers expect from a New Ancorvis bonding connector, considering that when the trefoil shape was added to the range, its impact was already renewed?

Think, think and …boom!

“It's never too late”! - according to the saying, so the bonding connector has been put back in shape and has definitely become more fascinating ;-)

Given the innovative threaded structure of the body of the new bonding connector, why not provide a series of interchangeable accessories that can be screwed onto the connector itself?

That is how the Pick Up and Scan Marker components were created, universal for all of our V4 connectors and ”like a rolling stone”, the accessories Lego and Regolo!

3D Printing solutions mood... and much more ;-)!

It has now been established that quality assurance in 2019 must consider smart solutions to face an increased complexity of production and the need for speed. It is also necessary to meet an increasingly pronounced need for reassurance on the quality of the product.

From this point of view, we ask ourselves questions daily to try to have answers ready and products that meet expectations in terms of safety, quality and reliability... even where, for reasons linked to the nature of some types of products, apparently one would not be able to overcome a result that is not always guaranteed.

However, the limits can often be overcome and sometimes this is possible thanks to a fast insight that turns out to be a winner!

At New Ancorvis we often see these sparks and our accuracy certificate of the products resulting from the use of Cad-Cam technology combined with the 3D printing technique is an obvious example.

The gap to be filled in this type of production is the fact that the final product does not always comply with the structure requested by the customer during the order phase.

All of these processes using the 3D printing technique are subjected, by their intrinsic nature, to a stabilisation process that can alter them in terms of size...

We have therefore come up with, and then examined and tested multiple times, a testing procedure that overlaps the source file with the scan of the device made using validated and dedicated software.

It works! And it even overcomes the critical points already present in the analogical production steps.

A high precision scan is performed on each model made. The scan obtained is then analytically compared to the source file - whether designed by New Ancorvis or directly by the customer - and only the products validated by our testing department and falling within our tolerance margins are sent to the customer together with the accuracy certificate.

With a certain pride,we are the first to perform and certify the testing procedure related to the 3D printed production of surgical models and templates and - what's more! - we are the fist to extend it also to the production of complete arches obtained with the zirconia milling and selective laser melting techniques.

 In this case too, the testing cycle is performed in the same way as described previously and resolves critical issues related to the sintering process, which also has an impact on the dimensional aspect of the structures.

From a problem, a spark and then a solution, which is repeated in a circular flow.

And it is in this context that we realised we have the possibility of overcoming an urgency linked to the accuracy of production of 3D printed removable abutments, in order to ensure not only the accuracy of the model but also the correct execution of then abutment, a key and crucial element to test the fitting and perfect coupling of the products .

We started by asking ourselves some questions... (lots of questions!) and in the end we gave ourselves a univocal answer that lead us to guarantee the correct production of these items thanks to the use of an advanced radio wave probing technology which is used to detect the discrepancies that may occur during the printing phase and to process only what falls within our tolerance parameters.

The workflow is certainly more articulated and complex... but at the end of the day this is just a blog ;-)

And it is only by knowing and fully understanding all the actors, bringing them together, understanding their needs, their strengths, their weaknesses and their dynamics of comparison that it will be possible to create a virtuous circle in which the industry will act more and more as a trait d’union between the dental technician and the clinician, meeting the requests of both and enhancing their specific skills and professionalism, with the desire to simplify and innovate.

We like to think that it is a circular flow, namely fluid... that feeds us and that must be fed, whilst living in a liquid and continuously evolving present!

What do we mean?

We mean - without filters - that the time has come for us to converse even more thoroughly with the clinical world because the increasingly strong interconnection with the digital world wanted by the market seems to suggest a logical way of deepening the knowledge of all the actors involved in creating and improving services and products; who, in turn, base their foundations on the clear determination and respect of roles and skills.

The slight warmth of the first days of spring makes us feel like telling a story...

This is why we would like to dedicate a story to you today: a story of attention and tendency to quality.

It was the end of the ‘90s when New Ancorvis decided to achieve the CE marking and UNI EN ISO 13485:2003 (now 2012): it was the beginning of a journey in continuous evolution.

A journey that has been far from easy, to tell the truth!

Of course, it has always been travelled with seriousness, but it required time to be completely internalised and experienced as a possibility of substantial improvement, not only in terms of product quality and safety but also (and perhaps above all!)  in terms of consolidating a fully aware business organisation devoted to constantly achieving better results.

We admit that it is and has been tough, because production companies like ours - completely in line with their customers’ expectations - are dynamic and difficult to bridle in standard workflows that do not change over time...

But even if we have worked extremely hard, we believe we have been repaid!

In fact, to date, we can say that the standards reached by our products in terms of quality, safety and reliability are high, as is high the degree of optimisation of our workflows, where all operators are required to express their know-how and desire to outdo themselves to ensure a productive efficiency that can be translated into benefits and added value for our customers: that is, into a kind of assurance of serenity, if we want to follow the New Age trend.

Of course these results, which we are clearly proud of, have been achieved thanks to willpower, know-how and obviously technology.

The latter, an undisputed protagonist in the New Ancorvis world, has allowed us to control the critical phases of the production flow, first of all the testing phase.

And in this regard, with an eye to the Easter period, we couldn’t help coming up with a surprise for you!

With reference to one of our most recent business lines - the Evo3D line for 3d printing- starting from May you will be able to count on our Accuracy Certificate, which basically proves the compliance of the source file with the product produced.

Using a measurable and structured detection system, each product will be compared to the file sent during the order phase in order to ensure its accuracy.

Pay attention to the little things, because one day you will turn around and realise they were big

Christmas is coming and we’ll finally have the chance to spend some time with our loved ones, take care of ourselves and relax!

In our personal guide to Christmas presents – because thinking a little about ourselves also means buying ourselves a present every now and then – books are one of the top gift ideas!

Yes, yes... a book! And no, we have not gone mad!

We know, it may seem to you like a vintage choice for us who love technology and mobile devices, but do you want to know the truth? Reading a book is a true elixir for health, mood and business!!!

Patience and perseverance… Shall we talk about how much we need these things every day at work and at home?!!? Well, reading is good for both... because finishing a book requires determination, concentration and patience... but step by step, page after page, even the most inaccessible mountain, just like the most complex volume, can be climbed, finished!

Studies conducted at Kingston University in London have shown that coming into contact - while we read - with other people's feelings and emotions, allows us to recognise them in real life... That’s it, a good Team Leader and also a good Team member – in whatever field they work - must have an essential gift… l’empathy!!!! Being able to refine it by reading is therefore a great possibility that is given to us and that is accessible to everyone.

And, what's more, a book allows us to interrupt our thoughts, increasingly stressed by hyperconnection and iphones, and to focus on something more fun and relaxing... And with a distracted mind - nobody can prove us wrong here! – we will be ready to face even the most challenging meeting and moreover with a revived vocabulary!

Just think that the neuroscientist David Lewis of the University of Sussex has discovered that reading reduces stress by 68%.... That's why reading before bed is a very useful habit to improve our sleep, since it relaxes our mind and prepares it for a regenerating sleep!

So what are we waiting for???  Let’s all enjoy a peaceful Christmas with the smell of ink... because knowing how to enjoy the little things and drawing from them the best they can offer... is the best wish for anyone.

It is well known: customer experience is very serious!!!!

It is something that cannot be ignored and that all companies must bear in mind as a paradigm of an optimal result...

It is precisely for this reason that process validation operations according to New Ancorvis cannot be performed only with the best clinical studies and the constant application of highly qualified staff, but must be tested also by a hypothetical end user within the company, to find out whether something has been left out of our workflow.

Well, our “Beta Tester” in this completely digital project dedicated to computer-guided surgery is no less that the company’s CEO, Davide Cantoni ;-)!..........and it is in this way that the institutional aspect is abandoned and we try not to take ourselves too seriously, while always keeping in mind the importance of an ambitious project like this.

Setting aside the ironic and witty tone of the first lines, the Light Solutions project - we can’t resist telling you! - is something we are really proud of and it certainly embodies the stylistic code of an evolution in the approach to the clinical-technical daily activity which could only be given a tangible form.

In fact, the Light Solutions Project represents, in all respects, an innovative approach to the subject because it is considered as an entirely digital flow, with the aim of making this type of method available on a large scale in a simple and immediate manner and to meet the growing needs of the dental laboratory to manage the interaction with your customer in an even more fluid and articulated way, relying on a portfolio of solutions, production, components and dedicated software.

From our point of view the Light Solutions Network - open exclusively to dental clinicians who have a digital system in their laboratory - represents the New Ancorvis revolution in this panorama in every way, because it puts the figure of the dental technician in the spotlight, highlighting his professionalism and know-how.

Entering the Light Solutions Network guarantees the possibility of taking part in a highly formative and certified course on the entire New Ancorvis computer-guided surgery project, playing a proactive role within the entire workflow.

In fact, in this context, the dental technicians will be provided with all the instruments required for them to effectively interface with their own customers and be considered by them as a valid support in the use of this system.

Here we are officially talking to you about the fact that New Ancorvis has grown and has 1000 new square metres of activity and ideas for you to take part in!

So we would like to share the first look inside this brand new wing of our company!
For just over 20 days, we have been able to use this new space, characterised by our typical modern and captivating style, but with some more features, which you will find exciting!!!
Davide Cantoni (CEO of New Ancorvis, Ed.) describes these new spaces as comfortable and lively, immersed in a welcoming and fragrant atmosphere that expresses our whole way of being.
"The guests" – because the novelty consists in the fact that most of this space will be dedicated to you and to all the activities we plan to introduce to you from the second half of this year - "will be able to experience a new way of meeting and receiving information, based on comfort and the latest technological instruments.
And they will also be able to sip some unusual drinks during a meeting and enjoy a coffee break that smells like home… in the kitchen area …and relax too…”

Since we certainly haven’t forgotten that in order to be able to concentrate breaks are needed, …our areas dedicated to chilling out and playing, which sounds vintage in the video game era but is still fun like when we were kids, achieve this objective perfectly.

Come on... you can’t keep on believing that continuing to do the same things all the time will allow you to achieve different results… because, let’s face it, every once in a while changes and innovations work like restorative vitamins if you have been ill for a long time.
Our friend Albert - who apparently was a dunce at s(k)ool, but then he surprised us all! - went further by claiming (as he did) that "Who blames his failure to a crisis neglects his own talent, and is more respectful to problems than to solutions. The greatest inconvenience of people … is the laziness with which they attempt to find solutions to their problems. There's no challenge without a crisis; without challenges, life becomes a routine, a slow agony. There's no merit without crisis. It’s in the crisis where we can show the very best in us. Without a crisis, any wind becomes a tender touch.… "
In short, it’s a bit like saying that when there is a crisis - and the wise etymology of this word tells us that a crisis is nothing more than a moment of choice, of a tough decision - necessity sharpens our mind and it’s a good job that we sometimes find ourselves in situations outside of our comfort zone, in which we can use our creativity and all of our resources to change, question, rethink!
Once again it depends on the self-determination of each of us to decide whether or not it’s an opportunity!
Obviously we lean towards this interpretation and we firmly believe that working hard - in any area of our life in which we must make a tough decision - allows us to overcome and transform any difficulties into something positive and different.
Considering that Albert always looked at the world with curiosity during his life, it is clear that the key to finding new solutions is to ask others and ask ourselves questions, investigate ourselves and our surroundings… with the kind of determination to achieve our goals/dreams that doesn’t allow you to give up, not even in the face of failure
And to you who might consider these ideas to be rhetorical and smile sarcastically while thinking “yeah, whatever, all hot air!”, we would like to say that they are not only simple incontrovertible truths but actually the pillars of modern management…
In our opinion it is nice to think that trying to behave like this every day makes us work better and faster… That's why today we wanted to talk a little about this friend of ours…. Considering the feedback we receive from the market, the problems we experience every day and any advice from whatever source, to improve our activity we study improvements to apply to our business organisation, to our product range and to our commercial offer.

And this is the best part of our job: being so willing to improve, to change continuously.

Which is more or less what should happen to each human being, who by definition can never remain the same: free to choose whether to evolve or involve.

In fact, the process of change - which is usually scary - actually makes us excited!

It is as if we can hear the sound of the synapses in activity…Spectacular!

However, as is obvious, the path to improvement is also paved with frustrations, failures and unsuccessful results, reproaches and very severe self-criticism.

We often have to take this into account too…

But the positive thing is that there are 40 resolute and motivated people, who never get tired of trying to do something “properly” or better… not only to improve the perception of the company and what it produces…, the so-called “positioning”, but also for ourselves, aware that we still have a long way to go.

Let's debunk a myth: working with Davide Cantoni - ladies and gentlemen - is far from easy!

Like all self-made people, he has an oversized personality that permeates the entire company.

With a cheerful and rather direct personality, he struggles to remain within the limits imposed by his position and often ends up overflowing with heated and undoubtedly undiplomatic expressions that would discourage even the Top Managers of Fiat...

He believes that together we are stronger: after all New Ancorvis is a Team of People and not an individual!

And, as we say, he is made in his own way, sometimes discontinuous, but able to motivate, spur and excite, as excited as a child who has a beautiful new toy in front of him, and able to prove over time that he too has matured and learned lots of things, even if he is the CEO of the company!

This is Davide according to my point of view and if famous people like W. Chan Kim and Renée A. Mauborgne define leadership applied to management as the “ability to create motivation, to encourage involvement and to support the men and women of the organisation, considering that the company's performance depends on their skills and motivation”, well then we can say that we are on the right track.

It is certain that being a leader - clearly not only an aptitude but also and above all a mentality that needs to be trained - is tiring and requires discipline!

First of all it requires being credible and competent, at all times! This is why it is necessary to learn, learn and learn and never stop learning.

It requires knowing how to transmit enthusiasm, motivation, transferring energy and love for work to the employees.

The leader must be curious about the members of his team which he wants to know everything about, their points of view and ambitions, showing a rare quality: being interested in people other than himself. 

And then he must believe in his dreams, in his points of view, convincing his co-workers of the feasibility of his idea.

He must be able to make sure that the instructions given have been followed and support those who find it difficult to complete their tasks.

Finally, he must be able to know how to correct his co-workers if they make mistakes, listening to their reasons and acting on the cause of the mistake in a constructive manner.

Last but not least, he must be capable of earning the love of all the members of the company and of loving them in turn - each one of them - because this is the only way to achieve exceptional results!
